Alpinestars 2026 SM-7 Core MX Helmet - Red/Glossy
The SM7 helmet is engineered for off-road racing and is optimized to offer the perfect blend of superior ventilation and comfort in a lightweight helmet, while its supremely aerodynamic composite shell delivers exceptional impact protection. As well as Alpinestars patented A-Head Fitment and Visor Detaching Systems, the SM7 is equipped with innovative PLASMA technology at the lower side of the shell edge for optimum energy dissipation in case of contact with the collar bone area.
OUTER SHELL
The SM7’s aerodynamic profile design offers a smooth, streamlined shell free of any external channels and features that might act as a load point in an impact or compromise the overall
integrity of the helmets Construction.
The shell’s curvature promotes reduced friction on impact, allowing deflection and the most efficient transfer of energy to protect the rider’s head from direct force to the ll and referred to the neck and spinal column.
PATENTED SYSTEM
The SM7’s Visor Detaching System features a patented release mechanism is conceived to avoid the inherent weaknesses in other anchoring systems.
The SM7’s visor is engineered to automatically detach from the shell when it is subjected to an impact energy greater than 15 Joules for optimum impact protection, regardless of the direction.
VENTILATION
Ultra-ventilated helmet with 20 individual intake and exhaust ports, not including the eye port, with 13 intakes and 7 exhausts, for optimum ventilation.
COLLARBONE PROTECTION
PLASMA inside; Alpinestars patented PLASMA technology is strategically integrated into the SM7’s side pads for high performance shock absorption in a critical area, significantly reducing the risk of injuries.
REMOVABLE LINING
- Linings are removable and washable by hand using warm water (max 30° Celsius) and neutral soap.
- Fabrics have antimicrobial treatments.
- Crown Pad: the Crown Pad and the Neck Pad are elastically connected, for better oblique impact management.
- Top Pad: the Top Pad is removable and adjustable in height thanks to the A-head system.
- Cheek Pads: the Cheek Pads are fitted 3D foam, with an emergency extraction system (ERS), with a channel for hydration tube installation. Cheek pads are interchangeable among all sizes.
- Chinstrap: chin strap is fitted with a 25 mm width nylon strap, stainless steel DD rings, removable covers for washing purpose.
- The SM7 helmet fit can be customized to the User’s needs with Alpinestars genuine parts: cheek pads are available in different thicknesses for a truly optimized fit (all thicknesses are exchangeable among all sizes)
FIT CUSTOMIZATION
The SM7 shell sizing solution ensures each helmet fit size has its own appropriate shell size to deliver the most anatomical solution for the wide variety of fit needs worldwide, providing three different helmet shell sizes M, L, and XL, and 6 consumer sizes from XS to XL to ensure riders have the correct fit which not only improves comfort and reduces overall weight, but most importantly, improves the effectiveness of the helmet in an impact.
The SM7’s fit can be further customized via the Alpinestars genuine replacement cheek pads, which are available in all thicknesses, and are exchangeable between all shell sizes.
HYDRATION SYSTEM
Integrated channels on both sides to accommodate a hydration system.
COMMUNICATION
Communication System Compatible: cutaway section on the left-side of the EPS to seamlessly accommodate Intercom Systems, with earphone recesses on both sides for speakers.
SM7 SOFT BAG
A Soft Bag provides protection for the helmet in storage.
